Last week thursday, our lesson was based on the different magazine genres therefore we came across consumer lifestyle magazines, i then learnt about sub genres for example women's weekly, weekly celebrity gossip and mens health magazines. The class was split into groups and were distributed different magazines, my group was given a women's weekly.
We then learnt about the different terminology for describing a magazine cover, for example the masthead which is the title of the magazine. We then had an introduction to music magazines and discussed the indivisual audiences for them. Shortly after we came up with conclusions about the readers and a typical day in the life that they might lead by answering questions like what gender would they be, what might they do for a living and what might they do in their spare time.
